ASTM F3334

Standard Practice for Finite Element Analysis (FEA) of Metallic Orthopaedic Total Knee Tibial Components

Describes standardized methods for finite element analysis (FEA) to estimate the static stresses and strains on metallic orthopaedic total knee tibial components. This standard practice is used to evaluate for worst-case within a series of different implant sizes of the same implant design. The finite element models developed follow ASTM F1800 practice for cyclic fatigue testing of metal tibial tray components.
